The design of the horse inhalation mask–nebulizer was developed to achieve harmony between technology and nature. The clean-lined form, accentuated by dynamic side embossing, emphasizes the character of the device – modern, functional, yet sporty and reflective of the horse’s natural energy and vitality. The color palette, inspired by earthy tones – sand, peat, clay, and charcoal – gives the project an organic and natural expression. The mask was designed in the spirit of More-Than-Human Design – an approach that broadens the scope of design beyond human needs, taking into account the physiological, emotional, and behavioral aspects of animals.
The goal was to create a design that does not impose itself but harmonizes with the horse’s natural breathing rhythm and behavior, making the inhalation process more comfortable and stress-free.
The production technology for this project was defined from the outset, allowing all technical requirements and limitations to be known in advance – an ideal scenario to focus fully on ergonomics and aesthetics.
A comprehensive conceptual phase allowed us to generate a pool of ideas that helped define the ideal character of the future product, meeting all prior client’s expectations. From dozens of conceptual sketches, we moved to four distinct proposals, each representing different values. Four CAD models were created based on a digital horse phantom to ensure full anatomical accuracy.
The prototyping and testing phase enabled empirical verification and refinement of all details on a living organism. Every ergonomic aspect was thoroughly examined to ensure that the animal experienced no discomfort.
